Poland e-TOLL truck rates since 2026-02-01 start at 0.56 PLN/km for a Euro VI vehicle of 12 t or more on motorways and expressways, and 0.42 PLN/km on GP and G roads, according to the tariff transcription at tachospeed.pl of Dz.U. 2026 item 33 . The same vehicle paid 0.42 PLN/km on motorways in the 2026-01-01 table, and the network grew by about 645 km to roughly 5,869 km on the same date. This guide gives both rate tables, explains which roads you pay for in e-TOLL and which at a toll plaza, and walks through the arithmetic for a trip.
0.56 PLN/km
Rate since 2026-02-01, against 0.42 PLN/km in the 2026-01-01 table.
The concession motorways are the part of a Polish toll bill that is easiest to miss. Three concession stretches on the A1, A2 and A4 appear to sit outside the e-TOLL charge and are paid at the operator, and a driver entering from Germany on the A2 meets the Świecko-Konin concession before any e-TOLL kilometres start. For wider context on neighbouring countries, see our EU road tolls for trucks by country guide .
How much does e-TOLL cost per km for trucks in 2026?
The rate depends on three things: the weight class, the Euro emission class, and the road type. Motor vehicles and combinations over 3.5 t gross vehicle weight pay, along with buses of more than nine seats, as described by tachospeed.pl. Road types split into A and S roads (motorways and expressways) and GP and G class national roads.
Rates for vehicles of 12 t and over
These are the rates that apply to most tractor-trailer combinations from 2026-02-01, in PLN per km.
| Euro class | A and S roads (PLN/km) | GP and G roads (PLN/km) |
|---|---|---|
| max Euro 2 | 1.07 | 0.83 |
| Euro 3 | 0.93 | 0.75 |
| Euro 4 | 0.75 | 0.60 |
| min Euro 5 (includes Euro VI) | 0.56 | 0.42 |
Source: tachospeed.pl, transcribing the Council of Ministers regulation of 2026-01-08 (Dz.U. 2026 item 33), accessed 2026-10-24.
Across the whole table the range runs from 0.42 to 1.07 PLN/km. Euro VI gets no separate rate: the tariff has a single top class, "min Euro 5", so a Euro VI truck pays exactly what a Euro 5 truck pays.
Rates for vehicles over 3.5 t and under 12 t
The lighter class pays less on every line. Buses fall into the same table.
| Euro class | A and S roads (PLN/km) | GP and G roads (PLN/km) |
|---|---|---|
| max Euro 2 | 0.80 | 0.66 |
| Euro 3 | 0.70 | 0.58 |
| Euro 4 | 0.58 | 0.47 |
| min Euro 5 | 0.41 | 0.34 |
Source: tachospeed.pl, accessed 2026-10-24.
The range here is 0.34 to 0.80 PLN/km. A Euro 5 or newer vehicle under 12 t pays 0.41 PLN/km on A and S roads, about 27% less than the 0.56 PLN/km for a 12 t and over vehicle in the same Euro class (our calculation from the tables).
How much did the rates rise in 2026?
For a Euro 5 or newer vehicle of 12 t and over on A and S roads, the rate moved from 0.42 PLN/km in the 2026-01-01 table to 0.56 PLN/km on 2026-02-01, a rise of about 33% (our calculation from tachospeed.pl). Trans.info reported on 2026-10-08 that Poland raised rates in two stages during 2026, ending about 40% above 2025 levels.
A note on sourcing: the legal source is the regulation in Dz.U. 2026 item 33, but the gazette PDF was not machine-readable when this guide was checked. The matrices above follow tachospeed.pl, and the headline values (1.07 and 0.56 PLN/km for 12 t and over) match other Polish outlets. If a toll figure goes into a contract or a dispute, read the regulation PDF itself.
Which Polish roads are tolled under e-TOLL?
The e-TOLL network covers about 5,870 km according to the official e-TOLL network page . Tachospeed.pl gives 5,869 km after the 2026-02-01 extension, which added about 645 km, and TVN24 reported the same figures on 2026-01-26. The official map and a PDF list of sections sit on the same e-TOLL site, and that list is the final word on any single stretch.
What does the e-TOLL network cover?
It covers state motorways, expressways, and selected national roads. AutoCentrum listed the sections added on 2026-02-01 , including A2 Kałuszyn-Siedlce, S17 Warszawa Wschód-Lubelska, S61 Budzisko-Suwałki Północ, S7 Warszawa Lotnisko-Tarczyn Południe, S3 Świnoujście-Dargobądz, and parts of DK91, DK12 and DK8.
Several of these additions, such as S61 Budzisko-Suwałki Północ and A2 Kałuszyn-Siedlce, lie in eastern Poland. If you run that lane, pair the toll check with our Ukraine-Poland border queue guide .
How do concession motorways differ from e-TOLL?
Concession motorways are run by private operators who collect their own tariff at toll plazas. According to Otomoto (2026-07-04) , the three concession stretches are:
- A1 Rusocin-Nowa Wieś, about 152 km
- A2 Świecko-Konin, 255 km
- A4 Katowice-Kraków, about 61 km
Together that is about 468 km (our sum). Otomoto does not say how trucks are charged on these stretches. Our reading is that they sit outside e-TOLL, because they do not appear among the e-TOLL sections we reviewed and older material describes payment to the operator, so confirm each stretch on the official e-TOLL map before you plan a route.
On the A2, Autostrada Wielkopolska publishes a price list valid from 2026-09-11 . The operator accepts cash, cards, and many fuel cards, including DKV, UTA, Eurowag and E100. Videotolling works only on the Poznań-Konin stretch, and the rest of Świecko-Konin uses toll booths. The truck tariff is published as an image or PDF, and it depends on vehicle category, so this guide does not quote it. Confirm your combination's category with the operator.
Two edge cases need checking before you plan a route. The state-run A2 section from Konin to Stryków was reported in 2021 to be charged through e-TOLL , so confirm it on the current e-TOLL map. And the A4 concession is reported to expire in March 2027, after which the state takes over. What that means for truck charging has not been confirmed.
How do you estimate a Polish toll bill for one trip?
Split the trip into e-TOLL kilometres and concession stretches, price each on its own, and add them. The formula for a Euro VI vehicle of 12 t and over is:
Toll cost = (km on e-TOLL A and S roads x 0.56 PLN/km) + (km on e-TOLL GP and G roads x 0.42 PLN/km) + concession tariff at the operator
Take the kilometre counts from the route calculator on etoll.gov.pl, and read the concession tariff from the operator's current table. The table below shows illustrative e-TOLL charges only. It assumes every kilometre is on a charged road of the stated type, so treat it as a template, not a quote.
| Scenario | Calculation | e-TOLL charge |
|---|---|---|
| 100 km, all on A and S roads | 100 x 0.56 | 56.00 PLN |
| 500 km, all on A and S roads | 500 x 0.56 | 280.00 PLN |
| 500 km, 350 km on A and S roads and 150 km on GP and G roads | (350 x 0.56) + (150 x 0.42) | 259.00 PLN |
None of these totals includes a concession plaza. A run that enters Poland at Świecko and continues east on the A2 starts with the 255 km concession stretch to Konin, and the final bill is that operator charge plus whatever the route calculator reports for the rest. Any single-route total is only as good as the kilometre count and the current concession tariff behind it.
How do truck drivers pay e-TOLL?
You register the vehicle, then report travel through one of three channels. According to the e-TOLL site, these are the free e-TOLL PL app, an on-board unit (OBU), or a ZSL, a built-in GPS module. Registration is done online, at customer service points, or through fleet card operators. The registration detail here draws partly on earlier summaries, so check the current e-TOLL pages before onboarding a new vehicle.
Fleets that already use a toll provider can often pay through the European Electronic Toll Service (EETS), a single contract that covers tolls in several countries. The National Revenue Administration (KAS) signed an agreement with Eurowag on 2026-03-09 as another EETS provider. The full provider list is on the e-TOLL site, so check it before assuming your current card works. Our EETS guide for HGVs explains how the contract model works.
Concession plazas are a separate payment. Keep a fuel card that the operator accepts, or cash and a card, for the A1, A2, and A4 stretches.
What is the fine for not paying e-TOLL with a truck?
Polish trade press puts the fine at 1,500 PLN for vehicles over 3.5 t. The 500 PLN tier applies to cars, not to trucks. Autobaza reported in 2021 that an appeal must be filed within 14 days and that paying within seven days cuts the fine by 100 PLN. No more recent official figure was available when this guide was checked.
Neither source is an official gov.pl page, so confirm the current amount and deadlines with KAS before you dispute or pay a penalty.
Will Poland charge tolls by CO2 class?
Not yet. Poland still prices by Euro class and road type only, and the same trans.info report from 2026-10-08 says the CO2 and air-pollution components "remain a project". No start date is confirmed, so do not build a 2027 budget around a CO2 tariff.
For fleet planning, that means the Euro class table above is still the only lever the tariff offers. A Euro VI tractor already sits in the best class, and a future CO2 component would be a separate decision for the government to announce.
How can carriers cut Polish toll costs?
Fleet age and route choice move the bill the most, and both are visible in the tables. Here is where the money sits.
- Retire older tractors on Poland-heavy lanes. On A and S roads, a 12 t and over Euro 4 truck pays 0.75 PLN/km against 0.56 PLN/km for Euro VI, about 34% more (our calculation). Over 500 km that is 375.00 PLN against 280.00 PLN, a gap of 95.00 PLN a trip. A Euro 3 truck pays about 66% more than Euro VI, and a Euro 2 truck about 91% more.
- Weigh GP and G roads against the detour. The GP and G rate of 0.42 PLN/km is 25% lower than 0.56 PLN/km on A and S roads. The saving only holds if the longer, slower route does not burn more diesel and driver time, so check current diesel prices in Poland before diverting.
- Check the weight class. The line between 3.5-12 t and 12 t and over changes the A and S rate from 0.41 to 0.56 PLN/km for a Euro 5 or newer vehicle. Confirm which class each vehicle or combination falls into.
- Price tolls as a separate line. Show the e-TOLL charge and the concession charge as distinct items in rate agreements, so a tariff change flows through without reopening the whole contract.
- Compare planned and billed kilometres. Run the route calculator in advance and check the first few invoices against it, since the charge is per km.
- Pair toll planning with time restrictions. Rate savings mean little if a Sunday or holiday ban strands the vehicle. See our Poland truck driving ban guide .
Frequently asked questions
How much is e-TOLL per km for trucks over 12 t?
Since 2026-02-01, vehicles of 12 t and over pay between 0.42 and 1.07 PLN/km, depending on Euro class and road type. A Euro VI truck pays 0.56 PLN/km on A and S roads and 0.42 PLN/km on GP and G roads. Vehicles over 3.5 t and under 12 t pay 0.34 to 0.80 PLN/km.
Do trucks pay e-TOLL on the A2 in Poland?
Only on part of it. The 255 km concession stretch from Świecko to Konin is paid at the operator's plazas, not in e-TOLL. Sections such as Kałuszyn-Siedlce, added on 2026-02-01, are in the e-TOLL network, and a 2021 report says the state-run Konin-Stryków section is also charged through e-TOLL. Check the e-TOLL map for your exact route.
Is the A4 Katowice-Kraków toll paid through e-TOLL?
Most likely not, but confirm it on the e-TOLL map. The roughly 61 km concession between Katowice and Kraków is paid at the operator. The concession is reported to end in March 2027, so confirm with the operator what changes for trucks after that.
What is the fine for driving a truck on a Polish toll road without e-TOLL?
The reported fine is 1,500 PLN for vehicles over 3.5 t, with the lower 500 PLN tier applying to cars. A 2021 report adds a 14-day appeal window and a 100 PLN reduction for payment within seven days. These details come from trade press, so verify them with KAS.
How do I register a foreign truck in e-TOLL?
Register online, at an e-TOLL customer service point, or through a fleet card operator, then report travel with the app, an OBU, or a ZSL. Fleets with an EETS provider can pay through that contract instead. The registration steps for foreign-registered vehicles can change, so confirm them on etoll.gov.pl.
Does Euro VI reduce the toll in Poland?
Not beyond the Euro 5 rate. The tariff has one top class, "min Euro 5", so Euro VI pays 0.56 PLN/km on A and S roads at 12 t and over. The benefit of Euro VI is avoiding the higher rates charged to Euro 4 and older trucks.
