Croatia has 14 public holidays in 2027. Under Naredba NN 64/2009 , trucks over 7.5 t or longer than 14 m are banned on selected roads from 15:00 to 23:00 the day before a holiday and from 14:00 to 23:00 on the day. Three holidays fall in the summer window: 2027-06-22, 2027-08-05 and 2027-08-15.
Which Croatian holidays fall in the 2027 summer window?
The 15 June to 15 September limit covers only the weekend bans, Saturdays 04:00 to 14:00 and Sundays 12:00 to 23:00. Three holidays from Article 1 of the holidays law , read on 2026-11-06, fall in that window and carry the usual holiday ban.

This table applies the order's text to the 2027 calendar. HAK, the Croatian motoring club, had published only its 2026 calendar on 2026-11-06, so check the HAK traffic calendars before you fix a 2027 schedule. For all 14 dates with weekdays, check the Croatia 2027 holiday calendar .
What are the truck ban hours on Croatian holidays?
The order sets 15:00 to 23:00 on Good Friday and on the day before a holiday, and 14:00 to 23:00 on the last day of the holiday. The HAK 2026 calendar marks the holiday bans across the whole year, so the same hours apply outside summer.
The ban covers vehicles with a maximum permitted mass above 7.5 t and vehicles longer than 14 m. Listed roads are the D8 from Bakar via Zadar, Split and Dubrovnik to the Karasovići crossing, the D9, D21, D23, D39, D66, D200, D300, the Ž5002 and the approaches to the Split and Zadar ferry ports. TruckBAN.eu, a secondary source, reports that completed motorway sections are excluded.
One separate rule applies all year: the D2 from Varaždin to Dubrava Križovljanska carries a Sunday ban from 06:00 to 22:00. Emergency, maintenance and utility vehicles and loads such as fuel, perishables or livestock are exempt. Read the Croatian truck driving ban times guide for the rest of the rules.
How do Croatian truck bans shift when a holiday falls on a weekend or Monday?
Croatia does not move a Sunday holiday to the next day, according to Article 4 of the holidays law. The truck order shifts the ban separately. For a holiday on a Friday or Saturday, the ban applies on Sunday from 12:00 to 23:00. For a holiday on a Sunday or Monday, it applies on the Friday before from 15:00 to 23:00.
In 2027, Assumption on Sunday 2027-08-15 adds the Friday 2027-08-13 ban to the usual Sunday one. Outside summer, the same logic moves Statehood Day (Sunday 2027-05-30) and All Saints (Monday 2027-11-01) to the Friday before, and New Year's Day (Friday 2027-01-01), Labour Day (Saturday 2027-05-01) and Christmas (Saturday 2027-12-25) to the Sunday after. Treat these as a reading of the text until HAK publishes 2027.
