Which Romanian holidays restrict trucks over 7.5 t?
Romania has no standing national holiday ban. CNAIR issues a notice for each holiday, covering vehicles above 7.5 t maximum authorised mass on named roads, under joint order MT-MAI 1249-132/2018. Vehicles used exclusively for passenger transport are excepted.
For 1 May 2026, CNAIR notices, as reported by Alba24 on 2026-04-29 , named the A2 motorway, the DN7 and the DN39. The restriction ran from 06:00 to 22:00 on the holiday itself. The evening before it started at 16:00 on the A2 and DN39, and at 18:00 on the DN7. Use those hours as a planning pattern for 2027. They can change.
Notices appear only one to two days ahead, so check CNAIR just before each holiday. Heat-wave restrictions are separate and announced at short notice. Read the full Romania truck driving ban rules .
