Is the gasóleo profesional refund zero for trucks until the end of 2026?
Yes. Article 16 of Real Decreto-ley 25/2026 sets the refund rate of article 52 bis.6 of Ley 38/1992 at zero euros from 2026-10-01 to 2026-12-31. Article 16 covers only that period; in normal periods the rate is the general rate less EUR 306 plus the special rate less EUR 48, per 1,000 litres.
A temporary aid replaces it. Under article 28 of the decree, holders of vehicles entitled to the refund receive EUR 0.05 per litre for October 2026 supplies, a base EUR 0.12 for November and a base EUR 0.19 for December.
Those later amounts can fall. November drops to EUR 0.05 if the September 2026 INE diesel CPI was more than 15 percent above September 2025; December drops to EUR 0.05 or EUR 0.12 under lower tax rate branches in the decree. Confirm which rate applies before you budget. On a 600 litre fill in November, the aid is EUR 72 at EUR 0.12 or EUR 30 at EUR 0.05.
Which trucks can claim, and how does registration work?
The gasóleo profesional scheme, a partial return of diesel excise to hauliers, covers goods vehicles of 7.5 t maximum authorised weight or more under article 52 bis of Ley 38/1992. Under Orden HFP/941/2022, holders must register in the Censo de beneficiarios before consuming, filing electronically at the AEAT Sede. Supplies are paid with the tarjeta gasóleo profesional, valid only for the vehicle named on it. The refund is settled monthly by bank transfer and capped at 50,000 litres per vehicle per year.
