We found no official truck ban app for all of Europe. Read the national legal source first, such as section 30 of the German StVO : trucks over 7.5 t may not drive for commercial goods carriage on Sundays and public holidays, 00:00 to 22:00. Then add a ban calendar app.
Which apps show truck driving bans?
In Germany, the official Autobahn GmbH app includes the free BGL alternative-route map for the summer Saturday bans. A joint press release from BGL, Autobahn GmbH and BALM dated 2026-06-29 says the 2026 bans ran from 2026-07-04 to 2026-08-29, 07:00 to 20:00. Under the Ferienreiseverordnung, the bans apply to listed motorway sections and federal roads, not the whole country.
Truck Bans by Nakordoni is a free app with ads that covers Germany, Austria, France, Poland, Romania and many other countries. It shows a 14-day ban calendar and sends alerts up to 4 hours before a ban. It uses no GPS. You pick regions by hand, so it gives no warnings along a route. Its own disclaimer calls it an independent information service, not an official one.
France publishes its rules on Bison Fute , the government traffic portal. The general regime is an arrêté of 2021-04-16 for goods vehicles over 7.5 t. A separate annual arrêté sets the summer and winter extras. So French dates change every year.

The Driver Assistant app tags days as Truck ban or Public holiday where its data has them and shows truck speed limits. Neither gives route-based ban warnings or navigation.
How do you check a ban before you leave?
First, read the national source for every country on your route, because weight limits, hours and exemptions differ. For Germany that is section 30 of the StVO, which lists exemptions such as combined rail-road transport up to 200 km. Second, open a ban calendar app for the dates. Where the app and the law disagree, the law wins. Third, check public holidays for each country and year in the holiday calendar, for example German public holidays in 2027 . Fourth, recheck the day before you drive, because France sets new dates each year and Italy publishes a new calendar each December.
