Hungary has certified secure truck parking on the M5, but we found no national count of spaces. The Balástya M5 Autohof at exit 147 has 190 truck spaces and Gold certification under the EU Parking Standard, per ESPORG on 2026-06-05 . About 300 new spaces are planned on the M1.
Where can trucks park on the M1 between Vienna and Budapest?
The M1 widening includes new truck parking. Works began on 2025-09-01, and trans.info reported on 2025-09-03 that about 300 new truck spaces will be built and six complex rest areas completely renewed. The M0 to Bicske section is targeted for August 2028, and the stretch up to the Concó rest area for August 2029. The section toward Hegyeshalom is planned for a later phase, with no date given.
One commercial option is Bosch Secure Truck Parking. Bosch Service Solutions states that its Tatabánya site, about 40 km west of Budapest, has 25 secure spaces that can be booked in advance through its app. This is an operator claim on an undated page, so confirm availability before you plan around it.
Which secure truck parking is on the M5 toward Serbia and Turkey?
The M5 (E75) has one verified secure site, Balástya, with 190 spaces rated Gold under the EU Parking Standard. We found no other M5 site we could confirm, so use the Logifie parking map below to look for further stops south of Budapest.
A long stop also needs a bed. Under Regulation (EC) 561/2006 art. 8(8), a regular weekly rest must be taken in suitable accommodation with sleeping and sanitary facilities, not in the vehicle. Driving bans can force a stop too, which our guide to Hungary truck driving ban times covers.
What parking is there on the M43 toward Romania?
We found no verified named rest area and no capacity figure on the M43, so this article quotes none. We also found no current queue figures for Csanádpalota (Nagylak) or Röszke. The Hungarian police border information page gave no truck waiting figures either, and it points drivers to the Rutin app for waiting information.
Drivers continuing into Romania can read our guide to truck parking on the Romanian A1 and A2 for the next leg.
Our free Hungarian parking map needs no login and lists parkings and fuel stations, with facilities on each location card where the source data has them. It has no live occupancy outside Germany, it is not a navigator, it takes no bookings, and it has no amenity filter for parkings.
