Where can a truck stop on the A22 Brenner motorway?
The 10 HGV parking areas on the A22 fall into three groups. Five are HGV-only: Sadobre, Brennero Casa Lupo, Firmian, Trento Nord Interporto and Rovereto Sud. Three sit inside regular service areas: Paganella Est, Paganella Ovest and Campogalliano Ovest. The last two are near other sites, one by the Plessi Museum and one at ex dogana Ovest.
Sadobre, called an autoporto in secondary sources, is a large truck park next to the Vipiteno (Sterzing) toll gate with fuel, showers, laundry and a hotel. Rovereto Sud received Silver Level certification in 2024, and the operator aims for Bronze at Sadobre and Silver at Trento Nord Interporto.
Lay-bys are different. The operator reserves them for emergency stops, such as a vehicle fault or illness of the driver or a passenger, along the whole A22 from Brennero to Modena in both directions.

In the cab, EU drivers' hours law (Regulation (EC) 561/2006) bars a regular weekly rest in the vehicle. Daily rest and reduced weekly rest away from base may be taken in a suitably equipped stationary vehicle.
