As of April 2026, the European Alternative Fuels Observatory counted 373 public locations where heavy trucks can charge at 350 kW or more, with the most charging points in Sweden, the Netherlands and Germany. EU rules require a truck charging pool every 60 km on core TEN-T roads by 2030.
Where can an electric truck charge in Europe today?
The EAFO April 2026 dataset lists 373 locations with at least one point of 350 kW or more, 2,405 recharging points and 21 countries.
According to electrive on 2026-10-24 , Milence had 39 hubs open and 11 under construction. Its Temse hub in Belgium quotes an ad-hoc price from EUR 0.379/kWh excluding VAT. In Germany, electrive reported in October 2026 that Aral pulse lists about 35 truck-suitable sites.
More is coming by law. Article 4 of Regulation (EU) 2023/1804 sets these steps for each direction of travel on the TEN-T network, the EU's main road corridors:
| 2025-12-31 | Pools along at least 15% of TEN-T length |
|---|---|
| 2027-12-31 | Pools along at least 50% of TEN-T length, plus two 100 kW chargers in each safe and secure parking area |
| 2030-12-31 | A pool at most every 60 km on the core network and every 100 km on the comprehensive network |

What is megawatt charging and who offers it?
Megawatt charging (MCS) is a charging system built for heavy trucks. The MCS chargers named below are rated from 1,000 kW to 1,500 kW, well above the 350 kW point that AFIR pools must include.
Milence has MCS at four sites: Antwerp, Zwolle, Landvetter and Temse. The first three each have one charger rated up to 1.2 MW, while Temse has four hybrid MCS and CCS chargers at up to 1,500 kW.
Aral pulse had four MCS parks in operation in Germany on 2026-03-12, per its press release: Schwarmstedt (A7), Hannover (A2), Schnaittach (A9) and Rastow (A24), with up to 1,000 kW. Königs Wusterhausen (A10) appears among the sites in electrive's October 2026 report. For routes in that region, compare the German and Austrian charging networks .
How does a driver find a truck charger?
No single public map covers every truck charger yet, so start with operator tools. Milence publishes a charging network map on its website. Aral pulse has a truck filter in its Aral Fuel & Charge app, and drivers can pay with an Aral card, a third-party card or a debit or credit card. Volvo Trucks offers a charging station service for any brand, launched in Sweden in 2023, so check its current coverage.
EAFO is not a map for this. It shows heavy-duty charging data as a chart by country.
Charging stops also use driving and rest time, so see how rest rules affect charger stops in Germany .
Frequently asked questions
How many charging stations are there for electric trucks in Europe?
EAFO counted 373 public locations with at least one 350 kW point in April 2026, with 2,405 recharging points across 21 countries. EAFO has published newer data since, so treat 373 as an April 2026 snapshot.
How fast can an electric truck charge?
It depends on the charger and the truck. Milence says MCS charges a truck in 30 to 35 minutes, and its Temse hub offers up to 1,500 kW.
What is the Megawatt Charging System?
MCS is a charging system built for heavy trucks. The MCS chargers at Aral pulse and Milence sites are rated from 1,000 kW to 1,500 kW. Milence's first MCS charger went live in February 2025 at the Port of Antwerp-Bruges.
Is there a map of truck charging stations in Europe?
Not a single complete one. Use the Milence network map, the Aral Fuel & Charge truck filter and your truck maker's service. As of the April 2026 dataset, EAFO shows truck charging only as a chart by country, not as a live map.
Plan the overnight stop around the charge: look up truck parking by country , a tool that lists parking and does not show chargers.
